- Activity records retain mine and subunit identifiers, reporting quarters, employment, hours and reported coal production.

Field coverage
Data notes
Coverage counts use the full tables. They exclude blank cells and empty JSON collections; zero and false count as populated.
- Active registration does not establish current production. Coal production figures do not measure noncoal output.
- Employment describes a mine or subunit in its reporting period, not current company headcount. Overlapping subunits and periods must not be added as unique workers.
- Addresses of record can be operator offices. Person-type controller names are withheld, but business names may contain proprietor names.
- Legacy source text can contain encoding artifacts retained from the published files.
